“A condescending and dismissive quip"
Pelosi refuses to condemn ad for homosexual event that mocked Last Supper; press aide says: "As a Catholic, the speaker is confident that Christianity has not been harmed"
 Following controversy over San Francisco's Folsom Street Fair and its lewd, profane advertisements, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has faced strident criticism for refusing to condemn the event and its publicity.
The Folsom Street Fair, a homosexual festival of hedonism that was held on Sunday, Sept. 30, receives some taxpayer funding and is co-sponsored by the Miller Brewing Company. It was advertised using a mocking re-creation of Leonardo da Vinci's painting The Last Supper, with costumed sadomasochists taking the place of Christ and His Disciples and sex toys on the table in front of them.
Concerned Women for America, the nation's largest public policy women's organization, has spearheaded national opposition to the festival. Matt Barber, CWA's policy director for cultural issues, assailed the event: "We have photographic evidence that the San Francisco government suspends indecency and child abuse laws for a day allowing fairgoers to parade the streets of San Francisco, fully nude, engaging in illegal public sex while tax-payer funded police stand by and do nothing. Children are allowed to -- and do -- attend this event and are exposed to this activity, which is illegal child abuse."
Barber has called on California politicians to distance themselves from the festival, particularly the anti-Christian ad. But, said Barber, Pelosi responded with “a condescending and dismissive quip."
Speaker Pelosi, a Democrat, represents the San Francisco area in the House of Representatives. Despite her pro-abortion and anti-family voting record, Pelosi insists she is a Catholic. According to various media accounts, her press secretary, Drew Hammill, responded to the request by CWA that Pelosi condemn the ad by saying, "As a Catholic, the speaker is confident that Christianity has not been harmed."

This evil woman makes me want to puke! Calling herself Catholic, what a joke! She is a disgrace to our faith and a traitor! I won't say more, the rest I leave to Jesus. May our Lord take pity on her and help her repent for the scandels she causes upon our beautiful faith. Her salvation is at stake.

The queen of the city of sleaze has spoken, remember all, she is the most powerful woman in America, her pagan gods speak to her daily, if she speaks out she loses her base and goodbye to a pathetic creature. However the city of sleaze will only send another Christian bashing jerk to replace her, so it is a lose lose situation for Christianity. Just PRAY and let OUR GOD handle the problem. Nancy will pay a horrible price for her actions. Perhaps when she no longer needs votes she will quit selling her soul to the demonic buyers she now deals with, sad that anyone will let themselves be cheapened as she and so many Christian politicians do each day. I HAVE HEARD OF AN INCIDENT WHERE A BISHOP HERE IN CALIFORNIA SPOKE TO PATTY BERG (AN ASSEMBLY PERSON) WHO CO-SPONSORED THE PHYSICIAN ASSISTED SUICIDE BILL RECENTLY, AND TOLD HER NOT TO IDENTIFY HERSELF AS 'CATHOLIC'.
THAT'S THE VERY LEAST THAT SHOULD BE DONE WITH PELOSI AND HER MINIONS.
I SAY AS ARCHBISHIP BURKE JUST RELEASED MESSAGE SAYS, POLITIICIANS SHOULD BE DENIED HOLY COMMUNIION WHEN IN THE STATE OF MORTAL SIN.
AND BOY, THEY ARE IN THAT STATE......
CONDONING ABORTION, SAME SEX MARRIAGES, PHYSICIAN ASSISTED SUICIDE AND EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH.

I just wish Archbishop Burke could take on the job of shepherd of the whole United States. Where are the bishops of California ? Why do they not speak out against this travesty of a festival and this travesty of a Catholic politician that demeans Our Lord Jesus Christ at ever turn? Laurette Elsberry I agree. But most important they have disrespected and mocked our Lord. That should gravely hurt us all, Period! Jesus only deserves the best, we can not allow this evil to go on. These gays have no fear for their salvation, they have no concept that judgement day will come. It is a pity. Also imagine if Hilary gets elected and wins for president, she is another evil liberal (also so called Christian), so this great cancer of evil is everywhere. Lets cling on to mother Church and flood her with beautiful prayers and praises of worship to our Lord. May our Lord Jesus have mercy on us.

I'm no expert on the Ten Commandments but I'm pretty sure Nancy Pelosi, her family, and her core constituency have broken several, intentionally and repeatedly. Pray for them and pray for their victims.
Ex-communication will not change their behavior but it will prevent her from calling herself Catholic.
Actually, she will probably wear ex-communication as a badge of honor, a sign of her victimhood, evidence of the oppression of evil white male patriarchs in the Catholic Church.
She has no class.

Gordon so true in what you wrote. Just remember that Polosi is a liberal, perhaps very much in lukewarm nature. Even if she was not in office I got a feeling that she see's all this harmless. We must pray for her conversion and hopefully she can get close to Jesus, and love him and praise him. Even if she repented I wonder how she would turn all this evil around in which she allowed during office. She should be excommunicated as a Catholic.

Shelia: The Arch-bishop of Los Angeles and most, but not all Bishops of California are members of the "Thirty Pieces of Silver Club" They refuse to uphold and defend the teachings of the Church in return for accepting the silver handouts from the Federal Government. Judas Iscariot seems to be their Patron. Pray for their coversion.

She and her husband were on "The View" according to Dr Laura, another desperate has been selling her soul to crud on the airwaves by the name of Barbara Waters said to Pelosi, I bet Whoopi would like to do your husband, she persisted on that line until Goldberg, another queen of sleaze said yes, not only that I would like to do Nancy to. This Woman Pelosi sits on the stage without the common decency to simply get up and walk of, this woman is the House leader of the Democratic controlled House of Representatives, is she not a fine example of what Hilarious Clinton or Babama Babama will bring to America. These three are trying desperately trying to out do Harry Reid for embarassing America in front of World Audiences. Pelosi is a joke. She imagines what great power she has and truth be told it's only her and her leftist freak minority followers who are both Anti Christian and Anti American. They won a split election with a minority of the vote and they imagine this gives them a mandate. That they're anti Christian/Catholic is a given. That they're anti American is most evident in how they push for (with their negative allies in the media) a US Military loss so that they can claim more Democrat power. Laugh at Liberals, pray for liberals and fight them, every step of the way.

Our peace/justice is sponsoring the event to which pelosi, feinstein,boxer etc are invited guests to speak..the peace/justice person is also the respect life coord. ...george wesolek..wake up he works for the archdiocese! Most Catholics are probably guilty of at most, breaking the commandments that concern gossip and rudness and other non-grave matters.

Just one example: How many Catholics use artificial birth control? Why is there so much fear mongering and hysteria about the sexual sin of homosexuality and not about birth control users. The Church teaches these sins are of equal gravity I believe it's an important question because people are not occasionally murdered for using birth control , but they are for being gay.

.O.M.: I read about it here .. just like you do. I'd love it if Cal Catholic Daily wasn't so obsessed with the topic and had more articles about the good things Catholics are doing to Build the Kingdom. The concept of "promoting" homosexuality is kind of like "promoting" the weather Ditto for "defending" it. As a for defending gay people for unjust discrimination, that's exactly what my Church say's I should do. Read the adult Catechism.
