New Boycott List
Shows Companies Backing Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A Planned Parenthood watchdog has released an updated list of the corporations and companies that provide direct funding for the abortion business. Life Decisions International identifies corporations that are boycott targets due to their support for the biggest abortion company in the world.
The group's chairman, Thomas Strobhar, tells LifeNews.com today that boycotts work as at least 231 corporations have stopped funding Planned Parenthood as a result of LDI's boycott project.
It is estimated that the boycott has cost Planned Parenthood more than $40 million since LDI started its campaign nearly 17 years ago.
"This should serve as a testament to those who thought it impossible to change corporate philanthropic behavior," he said.
New boycott targets, appearing on the pre-Christmas 2009 edition of the Planned Parenthood boycott list include Buffalo Wild Wings (restaurants), Estée Lauder (cosmetics/personal care products), Computer Sciences Corporation (information technology), and United Parcel Service (shipping services).
Companies that continue as subjects of the pro-life boycott include EBay, Wells Fargo (including Wachovia), Nike, Time Warner (HBO, AOL, etc.), Bank of America, Walt Disney, Johnson & Johnson, Lost Arrow (Patagonia, etc.), Chevron, and Nationwide Insurance, and Sonic (restaurants), among others.
The new Boycott List includes an expanded "Dishonorable Mention" section, which identifies charitable groups that are associated with Planned Parenthood either through donations or joint programs.
Those groups include AARP, Lions Clubs, the American Cancer Society, Camp Fire, Girls Inc., Girl Scouts, Kiwanis Clubs, the March of Dimes, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Rotary Clubs, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Salvation Army, the YWCA, and YMCA, among others.
Strobhar said the boycott campaign is not a publicity stunt "where we make news for a few days and then go away."

A revealing list: Girl Scouts? Salvation Army? Walt Disney? -- the boycott approach is exactly correct, although it should be more so. Bring the corporate logo in close proximity with the photographic results of abortion and put it on TV, on the web and in newspapers. Good work, though.

Upon almost immediatley withdrawing a substantial account from Wells Fargo, there was a barrage of questions from the bank as to why? I told them that it was because I had just learned that they had contributed to an organization promoting lesbian causes. They're still in business. I just wonder if they even are on the same list of contributors and whether abortion is the only target right now of LDI. If so, I will return to the same bank, open an account and almost immediately withdraw it, stating their support of abortion as the reason. Maybe we can start a group that do just what I did-but multiply it by the hundreds-thousands-millions??!!

Woody, WND has published a list of the top 100 funders of such things as abortion and gayness. Wells Fargo is not the only big name corporation to boycott ... One needs to target a specific company. The first I became aware of was well over a decade ago, when K-Mart which owned Walden Books refused to stop Walden from selling child porn on its shelves. AFA (American Family Association) and Don Wildmon (an Evangelical pastor out of Tupelo MS) and now his son lead this first rate effective boycott machine. They destroyed K-Mart. And when is the last time you heard or read of Walden Books? Recently I think a boycott action against Ford because of its gay friendly ads caused Ford to rein back on them.

JLS, thank you for your knowledge. PP(-you know who!) has suffered because they were hit in the wallet where they live. I pray that we continue to live in the Spirit where they can't touch us!

We VOTE with our money. Corporate America only understands ONE motivating factor...MONEY! However, we need to TELL them WHY we are taking our money elsewhere! This is a good List, but not complete. Sadly, there are some "Catholic" charities that should be on the list as well as MOST "pseudo-catholic" universities! It is clear that this type of action works to motivate change. GREAT JOB!
