“California government at its worst”
Cash-strapped state finds funds for billboards encouraging adoption by homosexuals
SACRAMENTO, Feb. 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- At the same time that it can't pay its bills or mail tax refunds, California's government is spending time and money on an advertising campaign that invites homosexuals, bisexuals, and transsexuals to adopt children.
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is partnering with the California Department of Social Services and the County of Los Angeles to sponsor two billboards, one in West Hollywood, and later, another in Alameda County, that encourages homosexuals, bisexuals, and transsexuals to apply to become adoptive parents and bring impressionable children into their homes. The California Department of Social Services is under the lead of openly homosexual director John Wagner, a Human Rights Campaign advisory board member.
"At a time when the state doesn't have enough money to provide hard-working people with their tax refunds, it's a shame that state and county funds are being wasted on this propaganda," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families / SaveCalifornia.com, a leading California statewide pro-family organization.
"God created fathers and mothers so that children could have the best chance at life," said Thomasson. "Studies show that children raised in homosexual and transsexual households are highly likely to experience sexual confusion and to act out homosexually, bisexually and transsexually when they otherwise would not. When the facts confirm that children do best with a married father and mother, there is no reason other than selfishness for anyone to advocate placing vulnerable children into these sexually-confused and sexually-charged environments."
In 2001, the University of Southern California conducted a "study of studies" regarding the effect of homosexual parents upon children. "(How) Does the Sexual Orientation of Parents Matter?" by sociology professors Judith Stacey and Timothy Blibarz was published in the American Sociological Review. The researchers found significant differences between homo-parented and hetero-parented children. Among them:
A significantly greater proportion of young adult children raised by lesbian mothers than those raised by heterosexual mothers say they have experienced sexual intimacy with a partner of the same sex. They were not, however, statistically more likely to identify themselves as gay or lesbian.
Young girls raised by lesbians are more likely to be sexually adventurous and active than their counterparts raised by heterosexual parents. However the sons of lesbians exhibit "an opposite pattern" and are likely to be less adventurous and active than boys raised by heterosexual households.
Lesbian mothers reported that their children behave in ways that do not conform to "sex-typed cultural norms." And the sons of lesbians are reportedly less likely to behave in traditionally masculine ways than those raised by heterosexual couples.

Frankly, that's quite a few good reasons why same sex parenting is better than opposite parenting. Anything from more honest ("a significantly greater proportion of young adult children raised by lesbian mothers than those raised by heterosexual mothers say...") to less dysfunctionality (boys less "adventurous", girls more "adventurous", and "their children behave in ways that do not conform to sex-typed cultural norms"). Today's cultural "norms" are clearly a disaster, and non-conformance to that is good news. Getting these kids adopted by quality parents helps get these kids off the state's dole. Too bad there's such a shortage of good opposite sex couples. We'd have fewer kids up for adoption in the first place if opposite sex couples had their acts together. In fact, the entire problem of adoption exists solely because of opposite sex couples having babies and not taking care of them.

Every last liberal fool in elective office in California should be recalled. Clean house, folks. It's in your power to do to them what you did to Gray Davis - give 'em all the boot! Fire the ones who support garbage like this while the education system and every other actually important service of the state is in jeopardy. It's up to the people at this point because the legislators and governor have proven beyond any doubt to be unwilling or unable to do their jobs.

Aren't we glad that we live in a state with a Catholic Governator?

Where are bishops on this issue? Such a Mad Hatter's Tea Party approach to morality. Those unfortunate children must be prayed for, as well as the government of the State of CA, which is completely out of control.

So what is good about boys being wimps and girls being bullies, Melinda? I prefer that a six foot man be there to carry me out of a burning building anytime over a six-foot woman. If the fire is really strong, I doubt she could handle it. Upper body strength -- you know. She hasn't got it, unless she spends all her time pumping iron, and even then she is not going to be as strong as a man who does the same thing and is as tall. The idea that everything about men and women is how they are brought up is just nonsense, and we all know that. The only way to get men and women to be equal in strength is to lower the expectations or requirements. Then there is also the right brain, left brain factor, and all that is hormonal. Face the facts Melinda.

Tax refunds... promoting homosexual adoption... clearly the government only has one choice. After all, we all know that promoting homosexual adoption will make EVERYBODY happy, whereas tax refunds aren't really needed right now since the economy is doing SO GREAT.

This is so bizarre even Rod Serling wouldn't believe it. Wait till the 163 billion in bonds taxpayers passed are due. Can you say Crackatoa and some lava?

Read the book of Jeremiah, it's like it was written about the times we are living in. "For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns, that can hold no water" (Jeremiah 2:13) If ever there was a broken cistern, it's the idea that homosexual relationships are equivalent to normal relationships in terms of marriage, child-raising, and all the other things that God created us man and woman for. Jeremiah pleaded with the people of Judah to change their ways, but they wouldn't, and the temple was destroyed and the people carried off to exile in Babylon.

Anne T, the article doesn't say anything about the physical strength of men and women. It says girls raised by lesbians are more likely to satisfy their husband in bed (more "sexually adventurous and active"), and boys raised by lesbians are less likely to be fooling around on the side (less "sexually adventurous and active"). It's all in the interpretation. Here, look at this ink spot. What do you see?

Anne T, nobody should be a bully. And just because someone is not adventurous and active does not mean they are a wimp. That is a demeaning term. All people are individuals and have unique gifts and talents. The diversity of the human family is a beautiful thing.

"Frankly, that's quite a few good reasons why same sex parenting is better than opposite parenting..." Melinda, that's about as strong a repudiation of the moral/natural law as one will ever see. Which parent, the mother or the father, is not necessary in a child's upbringing?

How can a child raised by two people, Melinda, with confused gender identity be anything but confused? This disordered inclination will never benefit the child and actually does violence to their development. Furthermore, to suggest that because heterosexuals are not stepping up to the plate and adopting (I dispute this considering I'm reading more & more about adoption agencies intentionally discriminating against straight couples) so therefore gays can take their place is ludicrous. Should other people with disorders be allowed to adopt also, like pedophiles?

Being raised by opposite sex parents isn't always better than being raised by same sex parents, because there's more to parenting than just the gender of the parents. It depends upon the persons, how they parent and the circumstances involved, not simply their gender.

Notice the relativism: "sex-typed cultural norms." The sex of a person is inherent in their nature, and everyone knows that boys and girls act differently in addition to being physically different. That's nature. True culture conforms to the natural.

Greta, my answer was one way of debunking the false ideas of radical feminism. I have been married to my first and only husband for over 46 years. My daughter's have been married to the same men all their married lives, and they are in their late thirties and mid forties. Therefore I think what you said is just nonsense. Sorry, but that is how I see it. I think stable two heterosexual parent families make for better marriages, and definitely helps keep down societal chaos. That does not mean that there will not be problems in any heterosexual marrige, but the couple should try to solve them--for their own benefit, for their children and for society.

Ted, Totally AGREE!!!!! We in California have gone along with things too long. Okay, we did a great job (barely) with Prop 8, but that is just one side of the monster, and we have to look at the bigger picture. We HAVE to elect people to office that are not willing to allow this garbage to continue. We must pay closer attention to people who talk out one side of their mouth and then turn around and do the opposite. The governator ought to be the first to go. He was elected on the premise that he and only he, could make our state great. Its a great deal away from the ideals of the majority of citizens. They still have not adopted a budget. What madness! IOU's in place of tax refunds. Ridiculous!!! For every day they do not do their job, they ought not get paid. They are not representing the majority of their constituents: CAN THEM!! Let's get started, people, time is wasting away, and we cannot allow this to continue!

Pray for the generation of our children who are going to be subjected to the soulful destruction of sexual identidy chaos.
Consider a 5 year old bouncing the idea of what sexual flavor (GBLTx) they might be. A monstrous price will be exacted to our beleagured and broken society (thanks to the culture of death).

The cover of this article from Life Liberty and pursuit of family makes me sick to my stomach. Poor child, having to be raised by two men, it is dysfunctional and a scandal towards this child. What message is society giving our children with this lifestyle that is truly a sick one. I pray that we can stop this great evil because our youth is being raised in it. This is not natural! May our Lord have mercy on these little ones who are being scandalized with the condoning of the homosexual lifestyle, a truly mental disorder!
