Clinical trials on girls as young as 13

American Life League report says three California Planned Parenthood affiliates involved in studies involving minors

Three California affiliates of Planned Parenthood are among at least 10 nationwide that have participated in clinical trials on underage girls, according to a report by American Life League.

The report, “A Review of Planned Parenthood Clinical Trials,” was published Sept. 30 and conducted by Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League. Sedlak’s review “reveals that at least 10 Planned Parenthood clinical trials have been conducted on underage girls as young as 13. Twenty-eight Planned Parenthood affiliates have been involved in 33 clinical trials – some government funded – 10 of which involved young girls. Two of the 33 total trials ended in the 1990s, the remaining 31 were conducted in the last seven years, and many are still ongoing,” said an Oct. 6 news release from ALL.

In California, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, headquartered in San Jose, is participating in clinical trials sponsored by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development “to increase the use of emergency contraception among sexually active girls aged 14- to 24-years-old,” according to the ALL study.

Planned Parenthood Shasta Diablo (Concord) and Planned Parenthood Golden Gate (San Francisco) “are conducting trials sponsored by the University of California at San Francisco and the National Institutes of Health,” said the ALL report. “The purpose of these trials is to examine ‘such things as the relationship between partnerships, parental and peer influences, and contraceptive choice; factors associated with long term continuation of contraceptive methods; attributes of new hormonal contraceptive associated with user satisfaction and long-term continuation; and the extent to which high-risk women who use these methods are also condom users and determine the characteristics of these users.’ These trials are accepting girls as young as 15.”

“In most states, minor girls involved in sexual activity is considered sex abuse and is illegal,” Sedlak said in the news release.

Also named in the report was Planned Parenthood of San Diego and Riverside Counties, which “completed a trial in 2008 that examined how best to control the pain of a first trimester suction curettage abortion,” said ALL’s review. “That trial was sponsored by the
University of California at San Diego.” The San Diego/Riverside clinical trial did not, however, include women under 18.

“As Planned Parenthood continues to spread its tentacles throughout our country’s health care establishment, it is imperative that it be met with resistance at every turn,” Sedlak said. “We encourage everyone who lives in the area serviced by the Planned Parenthood affiliates mentioned in this report to launch educational campaigns against this organization.”

Can't we let children be children? As was stated here, "in most states, minor girls involved in sexual activity is considered sex abuse and is illegal." It give me pause to think of the parents, allowing their 13-15 year old daughters to be involved in such a study. Sadly, the world is a tough place. I have been following the saga of Bishop Lahey of Nova Scotia and am stunned. How safe are our kids?

All these rotten men in the world who think that they can get away with murder and convince the innocent to do Mortal sins will rot in Hell forever they will have no place in the kingdom of God. That's the best news any christion could have. They will pay for their crimes of murder and lust. Thank you Father God!

Mark from PA, maybe the parents of these young girls didn't even know about their daughters' involvement. In California, Planned Parenthood welcomes minor pregnant girls to their abortion "services". No parent needs to know. Planned Parenthood has spent millions and millions of dollars to keep California voters from learning that their minor daughters can get birth control and abortions without any parental notification. If you want proof, go to yeson73.net and in the left column click on "Shocking Audio Tapes".....Pennsylvania actually has a parental consent law so children in that state are better protected than in California.

It seems apparent that many parents wish their daughters to have this knowledge and probably signed release forms to permit Planned Parenthood to study them.

Mark from PA, How safe are our kids? You are a prime example of how poor catechesis can harm our kids. Why are you stunned about Bishop Lahey? Are you aware of the fact that active homosexuals also love pornography? Are you still stunned? You are also famous for pitching your own tent in the campground of perversion. Not only have you been folllowing the evil saga of Bishop Lahey of Nova Scotia, you have been following and *living out* the perverse saga of promoting cafeteria Catholicism that stems from disobedient priests. People who promote mortal sin and people who follow the teachings of disobedient priests who tell them that they are wonderful for supporting the homosexual agenda should not be stunned. They are both a part of the perversion. Homosexual acts and child pornography are both perversions. Mark from PA, I know you claimed to have dropped your Catechism book in the snow as a young lad so this might come as another stunning shock to you. Your soul is not safe! The viewing of child pornography, the promoting or engaging in homosexual acts are both serious sins that could land someone in hell for eternity if they don't repent. Don't just be stunned by Bishop Lahey, be stunned at your own blindness and attraction to defend perversion.

The Truth Hurts, yes I am stunned abot Bishop Lahey. And when I found out about all the garbage going on in Boston too I was also stunned. I always thought the higher ups in the Church were held to a higher standard but it seems that many just do as they please. Yes, when I was a young person, I was blind to all of this. I was under the mistaken impression that 98%of our priest lived lives of chaste purity. I had great respect for priests because they lived a life of celibacy. I respected the bishops because I thought they were all holy men. I wouldn't say that I was stunned by my blindness, I was just an innocent young person. "I know you claimed to have dropped your Catechism book in the snow as a young lad." What kind of comment is that, or is it just random nastiness? I hope that you are not blaming sexual abuse of young women and their exploitation on the gays. You surely know from my previous posts that I believe that homosexual persons should be treated with respect and not discriminated against. So I do not apologize for this.

Patrick you are correct. No studies funded by the NIH are allowed to enroll participants under a certain age thanks to strict guidelines - do a quick Google search on NIH guidelines for research on children and see what you come up with. It's all there online for everyone to read. "It is the policy of NIH that children (i.e., individuals under the age of 21) must be included in all human subjects research, conducted or supported by the NIH, unless there are scientific and ethical reasons not to include them." There is no reason to exclude sexually active young adults (and yes, kids as young as 13 - 15 DO have sex with peers) from research designed to benefit all human subjects.

The NIH is a sick bunch of liberals that do NOT respect God's ways! Just look at their support for abortion and it says all! The government is NOT protecting anyone or anything...except their own agenda! I wish that this article conveyed the full one better. The truth is that PP was simply trying to figure out how to get more customers and make more money! They have NO problem promoting immoral behavior amongst 13-year old girls as they are MORE apt to get pregnant and need profitable abortions!
