GSAs: not as innocent as they may seem
Gay Straight Alliance promotes sex-toy workshop for youth.
The Gay Straight Alliance, which has clubs for homosexual and lesbian students on college, high school, and, now middle school campuses, this month promoted a “Pleasure Physiology and Sex Toys” workshop in its internet publication, GSA Network News.
The workshop, hosted by the San Francisco-based Center for Sex and Culture, was scheduled for June 14 at the Pacific Center in Berkeley. The Center, said the News, “will encourage your personal sexual exploration in this fun, informative workshop. Join us for a discussion on pleasure physiology and sexual response, and learn how to choose and use sex toys safely.”
The workshop, the News, “is for youth 14 and over,” but those “under 18 need permission from a parent/guardian to attend.” Further, “this event is also free free free @ the Pacific Center,” said the News, “so come on down and invite a friend won't cha.”
The Center for Sex and Culture says its mission is “to provide non-judgmental, sex-positive sexuality education and support to diverse populations.” The Center says it is “not the only organization trying to effect sex-positive cultural change,” but, unlike other organizations that do “sexuality education,” the Center wants “to make ourselves available to the widest range of people we can, with classes that run the gamut from informational to experiential.”
One of the Center’s founders, Dr. Carol Queen, is “a writer and cultural sexologist.” A “noted essayist,” her work “has appeared in such publications as Male Lust, Whores and Other Feminists, The Erotic Impulse, Bisexual Politics: Theories, Queries and Visions, Madonnarama, and Women of the Light: The New Sacred Healer,” says the Center’s web site. Queen has written erotic stories and an erotic novel, The Leather Daddy and the Femme. Her essay collection, Real Nude Girl: Chronicles of Sex-Positive Culture, “is used in Women’s Studies, Queer Studies, and Cultural Studies classes in universities across America.”
The Center offers workshops besides “Sex Toys.” The list includes workshops on masturbation, anal sexuality, gay sexuality, porn, and “sex club etiquette.”

To say that this is perversely sick is the mother of all understatements. These creeps need to be summarily charged with the sexual abuse of our children, and, as such, spend a considerable amount of their remaining lives behind bars. A study of 457 male sex offenders against children in Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy found that "approximately one-third of these sexual offenders directed their sexual activity against males." Although heterosexuals outnumber homosexuals by a ratio of at least 20 to 1, homosexual pedophiles commit about one-third of the total number of child sex offenses. David Thorstad is a homosexual activist and historian of the gay rights movement. He is a former president of New York's Gay Activists Alliance (GAA), a prototype activist group founded in December 1969. The GAA at its inception opposed age of consent laws, which prohibited adults from having sex with children. Thorstad is also a pedophile and founding member of the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). Thorstad argues that there is a natural and undeniable connection between homosexuality and pedophilia. He expresses bitterness that the gay rights movement has, in his view, abandoned pedophilia. Thorstad writes: "Boy-lovers were involved in the gay movement from the beginning, and their presence was tolerated. Gay youth groups encouraged adults to attend their dances. . . . There was a mood of tolerance, even joy at discovering the myriad of lifestyles within the gay and lesbian subculture."

We need to provide a millstone for the neck of Dr. Carol Queen (?). Wouldn't you think that the promotion of sex for children as young as 14 would be a crime? Nope, it is part of modern education. I sincerely hope that none of you have gay children. My mother is Polish Catholic and when I came out (by the way, I am a woman) she never brought religion into it. Why? Because she's smart enough to know that sexuality has nothing to do with religion. Just like pedophilia has nothing to do with homosexuality and sex toys have nothing to do with being gay. Are you threatening Carol Queen and her organization because they are allowing a venue for young people to educate themselves about sex toys? Does that make sense to you? Are sex toys a sin? What if a young person wants to obstain from sex with others and wants to use a sex toy instead? You still aren't happy. Please take some time to educate yourselves about sexuality, tolerance, love and acceptance. I grew up Catholic, and luckily my parents were loving and accepting. Many gay kids try to kill themselves, I was lucky. Good luck to you all. I hope you find a better cause (homelessness, poverty, AIDS, war) to rant against.

Jay -- since when is to disagree with you to threaten you, or anyone else? Is it a threat to report what someone is doing? If so, the death of free speech is at hand. Good luck to you in getting a clearer grasp of what it means to say "marketplace of ideas." Or do you think the only ideas in the market should be your own? As far as educating ourselves about sexuality, we have been well educated by the most trustworthy source available -- the Catholic Chuch, instituted by Christ. To practice homosexuality is contrary to the nature of the human person. To be a homosexual is not sinful of itself, as long as the homosexual is able to control his/her baser instincts.

Ill get right to the main point of this article, When I adopt children, and I will someday, I would not allow him or her to be educated sexually by any student organization either. GSA or anywhere. It's up to parents to discuss sex properly on their terms.
I am 20 and romantically attracted to men who are in their mid 20s. I am not, have never, and never will be attracted to women or children of either gender or age. That is my nature and the nature of many millions of other humans and billions of creatures, many species of which are well documented to have homosexual tendencies like ferrets, rams, and Japanese macaques. We are not going away. Neither do we increase or multiply. We are a small percentage of people across all cultures and religions. We do not educate anybody to become gay despite beliefs to the contrary. It is impossible to change sexual orientation even if it were a goal! People are either gay, bisexual, or straight it doesnt change according to every major unaffiliated organization that studies the mind. They all say homosexuality is not wrong or perverted and cannot change.
The biggest, most expensive, and time consuming goal of the gay community is to combat hate and misrepresentation. It's NOT too much to ask for that. On a tangent, NAMBLA and other pedophilia organizations are a definitely perverse, disgusting, and should be illegal. They are duly shunned in the gay community and I was warned about them at my GSA when I was a teen in high school.

Matityahu's assertions about homosexuality are demonstrably false. NARTH and others report high rates of success in reparative therapy of S.A.D. The results of therapy fall into three categories, about 1/3 each: 1/3 have total or near-total cure of their homosexual impulses/acts, 1/3 have significant cure of their homosexual impulses/acts, and 1/3 have little or no cure of their homosexual impulses/acts. If we had such success with heart disease or cancer, we'd be hailing the miracle cure. It is very revealing that Matityahu aspires to be like "billions of creatures, ... like ferrets, rams, and Japanese macaques" ---to be like animals, instead of what God wants.... and he/she plans to adopt children. May God have mercy on those innocent babies!

With the rates of heterosexual HIV and teenage pregnancy rising it is clear that abstinence-only teaching are not working. I think it's a great idea to educate our youth so that they may go out into the world and make conscious, smart and thoughtful decisions. We cannot live in fear of God and hope that he will keep our children safe from harm. We must educate them and teach them respect for themselves and their bodies. Loving God does not mean living an ignorant life. Gays and Lesbians are children of god too and deserve to be treated as such. Only God has the right to judge.

I'd like to see the statistical proof in "Doctor" Suter's quote: " about one-third of adult homosexuals engage in sex with minors." This is demonstrably false. This is like saying that white folks only get mugged by men of color - people love to generalize, since intellectualism is looked down upon in our country, and it's just plain EASIER to make gross generalizations.
As for our loving G-d, why would he create so many instances of homosexuality in the animal kingdom if it's so "unnatural"? And how can of you claim that homosexuality can be "taught," do you really expect that a straight child can be taught to be gay? That's patently absurd.

For example: In 1987, Dr. Stephen Rubin of Whitman College conducted a ten-state study of sex abuse cases involving school teachers. He studied 199 cases. Of those, 122 male teachers had molested girls, while 14 female teachers had molested boys. He also discovered that 59 homosexual male teachers had molested boys and four female homosexual teachers had molested girls. In other words, 32 percent of those child molestation cases involved homosexuals. Nearly a third of these cases come from only 1-2% of the population.
Dr. Judith Reisman, in her book, Kinsey, Crimes & Consequences, describes the research done by Dr. Gene Abel. This researcher compared the molestation rates of self-confessed homosexual and heterosexual child molesters. In a sample of 153 homosexual molesters, they confessed to a total of 22,981 molestations. This is equivalent to 150 children per molester. Self-admitted heterosexual molesters admitted to 4,435 molestations. This comes to 19.8 victims per molester. Dr. Abel concluded that homosexuals “sexually molest young boys at an incidence that is occurring from five times greater than the molestation of girls.”
This high rate of molestations by homosexuals is consistent with other studies conducted during the past several decades. Here are just a few studies that show homosexuals molesting children at epidemic rates:
The Los Angeles Times conducted a survey in 1985 of 2,628 adults across the U.S. Of those, 27% of the women and 16% of the men had been sexually molested. Seven percent of the girls and 93% of the men had been molested by adults of the same sex. This means that 40% of child molestations were by homosexuals. (Los Angeles Times, August 25-6, 1985)
In 1984, a Vermont survey of 161 adolescents who were sex offenders found that 35 of them were homosexuals (22%). (Wasserman, J., “Adolescent Sex Offenders—Vermont, 1984” Journal American Medical Association, 1986; 255:181-2)

Heterosexual sex occurs in "nature," but adultery is forbidden no matter how "natural" it is. Humans are different from animals.

I remain utterly amazed at the amount of in-depth study and energy expended by purportedly non-homosexuals on homosexuals and the arcane studies that have collectively proven nothing. Why on earth is it so important to exert the energy to stuff your heads with irrelevant pseudo-sociological data on a subject you find so repugnant. Goodness, if you hate homosexuals, perverts and sodomites so vehemently, why don't you study art or music, or St. Therese Lisieux, or something within which you find joy. Or how about a good examination of conscience - your conscience. Remove the beam in your own eye before fretting about the splinter in mine.

The article below from a Catholic association clearly demonstrates there are people in the Catholic Church who are doing great work for the safety of youth in this nation. The youth of this nation are on the front line in the cultural war here in the USA.
Recently I was speaking with a Vermont Representative about the need for change in our public school policies, the property tax burden and other matters of concern. In our conversation I made the statement " in order for positive change to take place a tragedy may have to occur".
The current trial of the Catholic Church may be such a tragedy. In light of this trial the question I would like cleared up, is, are people born gay? And if they are, what norms are we to expect from them in the way of behavior? Will we be required or forced to change our norms to accommodate them?
Gay groups who advocate we accept their gay life theory are working over time to change societies norms. They have unlimited access to our public schools where children are being taught these new norms. Groups like RU12, Out Right Vermont, GLSEN, GSA, the NEA and several elected officals advocate that students embrace these different norms as detailed in the following article.
If we and our children accept their position should we not be expected to change our norms and accept their behavior as normal?
I must also ask, will we see the public school system be subjected to a trial for the wrongs being committed by these advocates and teachers or will the politically correct card trump any effort to protect children from the norms these people are teaching are children?
What will the cost to tax payers be if victims come forward and claim justice and a big payday which may well come with it? Will we see over zealous prosecution of other institutions and people who oppose the move to accept the gay agenda? I recall how the Catholic Church was threatened with the loss of their tax exempt status if the church continued to advocate against efforts to pass gay marriage here in Vermont. I have had a chance to read all the postings,and let me start off by saying God hates all sin. Sin separates us from God and the love of God. But this God of love, loved mankind so much that he gave his only begotten son Jesus Christ who is God come to earth as a man to be crucified on the cross for the salvation of the sins of all mankind. In his posting of June 28, 2007 David Ayer raises some very important and legitimate concerns about where this agenda is going to take America and rest of the western world. To say the alarm bells have been ringing for a long time now while America and other nations are heading down an ominous and perilous road is an understatement. As David Ayer states in his posting, overzealous prosecutions will in fact become a reality leading to persecutions of the faithful with the Catholic Church being squarely right in the middle defending the Gospel and its teachings and Magisterium of the Catholic Church that has been around for over 2,000 years. It really does not seem to take a rocket scientist to figure out where all this is heading sometime in the near future. A God of love who created mankind and the Universe is in total control and will intervene at the approprite and exact moment in human history to make all that is wrong with the world right in an instant, just when we think things in this world are the bleakest.. I think Jim in SF is pointing to what can be a disproportionate interest in homosexuality and social vices and decadence at the expense of many other aspects of life. For example, the fact that orthodox/traditional Catholics cannot produce any film, literature, art or music that is of high quality (there's not even much low quality) is an indication of skewed interests. For many, positive expressions of the glory of God and reflections of His creation through literature, film (the entire artistic genre is boycotted by trad Catholics) and other art forms is of no interest at all, apparently. Nobody (relatively speaking) will study it seriously, and nobody will cultivate any talent in those areas. Instead, we will see numerous detailed and exessively repetitive "analyses" of homosexual and other sexual sins. Certainly, there's a need to refute errors, but when this is the only activity that attracts the passionate interest of orthodox Catholics, one can rightly say that the matter of giving witness to the greatness of God and the Faith is of secondary (at best) interest.
As Cardinal Ratzinger once said (and he was roundly and erroneously criticized by traditionalist Catholics) -- the Catholic Faith cannot be reduced to a collection of moral regulations. In the same way, a too steady and compulsive diet of stories and outrage about sexual scandals and moral disorders can give the impression that Catholicism is a religion that is primarily interested in having people become outraged about homosexuality and sexual sins (or any sins). But this generally doesn't win people to the Faith -- from one man's perspective here.

I have read all postings, without a stop. One question I have is: Did anyone ask what we kids think? Or do you suppose we cannot think and need to be held by the hand all day. Parents and the government send us to school to learn how to think by ourselves, yet when asked about something such as homosexuality, or world peace. The only one we can speek on without having our hands slapped is world peace. Did you ever stop to think that maybe all the Gsa students already knew all about sex toys. I for one have known what sex toys were from an age of 12. And where I could get them without parents finding out. Most of your children have more knowledge of what goes on it the streets then you do most likely. Not that I mean any disrespect. I have to say IT IS PART OF MODERN EDUCATION! I had 2 female firends lose their virginity at the age of 12 to older "boys" by their own choice. And one recived an S.T.D. By the Gsa giving out information on how to use the Toys ...well lets just say we all already know how to use them, but they do need to teach people how you use a sex toy safely. Evidently "GSA voice" has not yet learned to "think for herself." She can't quite connect the dots that her 12-year-old friend would have caught no disease if she had not had sex. "GSA voice's" response to the problem is akin to this: If your house is endangered by a mudslide, get a bulldozer to pack more mud into your home. So much for the effectiveness of institutional schooling whether by the Novus Ordo or by the government.

It is nice to know that you think I do not think for myself,and you only have a childish comeback. I realize though that, that is how you think. ( though I hate to sink to your level to insult your way of thinking)And for me to sit here to go over this when ones mind is made up and they are too stubborn to change is well, a waste of my mind. When I really want to go back to my books. So I have to say that though to talk to someone on a childish level where all we will do is sit here and insult each other, to prove who is better. I must say I lost the intrest to those games along time ago. And now I really wish to go finish my book. And to the quote I sent in earlier I agree with it some what. I know what you wrote, GSA Voice. Your "solution" to preventing sex diseases was an endorsement of sex toy education. The most effective solution to sex disease is not wallowing in more sex, but no sex for the unmarried. Your alleged monogamy, Mr. Gentilini, is most unusual among homosexuals, but it is still a sin that cries to Heaven for vengeance.

You can have a torso without mutiliating it or abusing it with harmful substances. You can have a voice without lying, blaspheming, cursing, or deceiving. And In truth no one really has a "new thought" most likely someone has thought it before. And why think carefully I will only live once I want to live as I want to not as others tell me. if one is gay or lesbian does not mean that you will teach what you do with other people. if you are the way you are is not because you wanted to be that way. children don't want to know about the trauma you go through everyday by being the way you are. please don't tell me that you are happy being gay or lesbian. there is nothing to be happy about that. i do not desire anyone to be gay or lesbian.

While there are technical differences between homosexuality and pedophilia, there is enormous overlap of the two diseases. Through the ages, sodomy of youths has been a persistent feature of the homosexual deathstyle. So, by their twisted definition, if an adult male has sex with even one minor male, he is defined as not being homosexual. By such means they deceive the public. Homosexuals are an enormous threat to children. The 1% of the population that is homosexual commits an enormous DISPROPORTION (ranging from 20% to 47% depending on the study) of sex abuse of minors. So, AT BEST, if one uses the accepted definition of homosexual, 1% of the population perpetrates 20% of sexual abuse against minors. Search scholar.google.com using "homosexuality" and "pedophilia," exclude the partisan research and reach your own conclusions.

I admire the circle that is the train of thought for most religious extreamists. How simple life must be for those who dont have to think for themselves but instead defer to an archaic book.
Good on the GSA for teaching safe sexual practices for those that wish to learn. I myself have run numerous workshops at my university where I am the sexuality officer.
To all of my fellow Queer's out there i say this; If we are going to 'burn in hell' at least we can take solace in the fact that the religeous right shall be elsewhere.
PS: Ill bring the beer! :o)
