“Porn has seeped into our everyday world”
Anti-pornography group wants federal government to crack down on producers, distributors of obscenity
WASHINGTON, June 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- For 90 minutes on Tuesday, a standing-room-only crowd attended a briefing at the U.S. Capitol where researchers and a former pornography actress revealed information on the harmful and addictive nature of today's porn, and called on the federal government to prosecute the major producers and distributors of obscene material.
"Our efforts today are not partisan because the protection of children, violence against women, addiction and sexual trafficking are not partisan issues,” said Patrick A. Trueman, former chief of the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, U.S. Department of Justice. “Nor are we here today to quarrel with Attorney General Holder."
"The Attorney General previously indicated support for the enforcement of obscenity laws,” said Trueman. “We are asking that the prosecution of obscenity, which seems to be on hold in the Obama Administration, be given a high priority because of the widespread harm we now know that obscene material is causing."
"Statistics show that 7 in 10 kids have accidentally accessed pornography and 1 in 3 intentionally,” said Donna Rice Hughes, president of the anti-pornography group Enough is Enough. “Internet pornographers are great innovators and use clever and deceptive marketing tactics to push their drug to anyone and everyone. The majority of porn sites have free teaser images and videos on their home pages and do not require any age verification."
"Howard Stern regularly features pornography on his show, Miley Cyrus, the former Disney star who is a role model to young girls everywhere is photographed for Elle magazine, sprawled on a table wearing S/M gear, and students at Yale University invite pornographers to give talks on campus," said Dr. Grail Dines, professor of sociology and women's studies at Wheelock College in Boston. "These simply illustrate how porn has seeped into our every day world and is fast becoming such a normal part of our lives that it barely warrants a mention."
During Dines' remarks, several members of the audience were noticeably affected by the repulsive, violent, degrading acts she described to demonstrate that today's pornography is not traditional Playboy-style images. Dines, the author of a newly released book, Pornland: How Porn Has Hijacked our Sexuality described how pornography is the major form of sex education for boys, and as it seeps into mainstream media, for girls as well.
To underscore the impact of pornography on society, Dr. Mary Anne Layden, director of the Sexual Trauma and Psychopathology Program, University of Pennsylvania, said, "The American Psychiatric Association has added Hypersexual Disorder to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual-5, which will include both sexual addiction and pornography addiction. Pornography may be ingested through your eyes but its impact is not just on your genitals but also on your brain, so it fits the addiction definition perfectly."
"Adult pornography normalizes sexual harm and provides children visual examples of lack of emotional commitment, unprotected sexual contact, and visual examples of violent rape in many cases," said forensic pediatrician Dr. Sharon Cooper, University of North Carolina.
“Porn is not glamorous,” former porn actress Shelley Lubben told the audience. “Porn destroys human lives and is destroying our nation. But we can change. We can heal and I am living proof of that."
"Obscene pornography has never been considered protected material by our U.S. Supreme Court and the porn criminals do not have a right to pollute America with such material," said Trueman.
Federal obscenity laws prohibit distribution of hardcore obscene material on the Internet, the majority of the pornographic material that is available on the Internet; on cable/satellite or hotel/motel TV, the pay-per-view porn that most cable/satellite companies and hotels carry; and in sexually oriented businesses, porn shops and other retail shops that trade in hardcore porn.
"The U.S. Department of Justice has a criminal section devoted to the prosecution of obscenity with 93 U.S. Attorneys spread throughout the country whose job is to enforce federal law," said Trueman. "When they enforce obscenity laws, they help establish community standards. The majority of Americans would like to live in a community with high standards."

The article would be better if it had some corrections. For example, putting aside opinions which abound in the article, (1) "Hypersexual Disorder" has NOT been added to the DSM-V. As of today, its status is a PROPOSED addition to the DSM-V. It will be at least a couple of years before the final draft is prepared, which must then be voted on. (2) The paragraph which begins with "Federal obscenity laws prohibit distribution of" implies or claims that the majority of the porn available commercially is legally obscene. However, no court has ruled that to be true. (3) The article swishes back and forth between pornography and obscenity, which legally are not the same thing. Cracking down on obscenity does not limit legal pornography.

I filed complaints with the Justice department over two years ago and their response was that they would investigate my complaint in the order received. I have telephoned, emailed, etc. to no visible effect for all that time-and I'm absolutely sure that the tentative number of porn complaints will swamp the switchboards, automatically triggering their blanket "BUSY" signals. Another intial problem was having any one federal commission finally admit that THEY were the ones that I SHOULD have called. Oh, yes, the abrogation of my rights stopped all by itself, just a few months ago-keeps it neat, eh?
Obama is on "hold" (that's news?) and Holder is said to have PREVIOUSLY supported enforcement. FULL OBAMA AHEAD!!

When will we wake up? Pope Paul Vl warned us in 1968 in Humanae Vitae, the acceptance of contraception would mean that "man, growing used to employment of anti-conceptive practices, may finally lose respect for the woman and .... may come to the point of considering her as a mere instrument of selfish enjoyment, and no longer as his respected and beloved companion." I wish to thank Jenny for providing a first-rate occasion for discerning the insanity of a free people allowing minds so indoctrinated into the pharisaical hair-splittings and legalisms of our present legal culture- both academic and professional- as hers, to be in a position to determine what our children shall be exposed to as a consequence of their "legal process". I solemnly warn Jenny and all those whose minds have imbibed, similarly, the foundational assumptions of the course of training which has formed her- there comes a time when the people will simply rise up and cast off a judicial tyranny of moral relativism and blindness. There is a natural law, Jenny, which broad swaths of our legal professionals have rejected and which we the people are in the process of restoring. You will, if you pay close attention, see incontrovertible evidence to this effect, beginning notably the first Tuesday in November.

A good read that explains the nature of pornography is to go to an online Douay-Rheims Bible and enter "abomination" in the search engine. A scan of the references that come up will provide the reader with the nature of pornography and God's opinion of it, not to mention both the natural and supernatural consequences. PA would do well to study these Scriptures.

It is an established fact with respected psycholgists that watching pornography makes an organic, "neuroplastic" change in the brain, and becomes addicting. As the tolerance level increases to hard core sado masochistic "porn", men become impotent in "lovemaking" with their "partners"/wives requiring impotence medications such as the constantly advertised Viagra. An article in the 6/17/10 SD UT states, "Dr. Irwin Goldstein, director of sexual medicine at Alverdo Hospital, is a co developer of a new drug to boost female sex drive." At this time, it falls short in studies. Where WILL the improper preoccupation with sex end? All of the above surely indicates the devil is A & W and working hard.

Read Ezechiel chapter 8: In some past posts I aluded to this vision as being found in Daniel, but it is Ezechiel 8, the whole brief chapter. It reveals the profound entrenchment of pornography / idolatry in the practice of men and women. Surveying this chapter and other voluminous prophetic statements and visions shows the intrinsic integration of idol worship, pornography and child abuse including abortion. So far all I've heard from the Church amounts to a few whispers now and then from the episcopate about this mortal problem. Presumption that God will or is not rectifying the abominations going on among millions who consider themselves Catholic is rife. God will punish, and nature, as Tee's post spells out, instills the conseqences.

@Canisius and Rick DeLano; First, Canisius, you wrote, "guess that you are person who has no problem with pornography". Get real. Nowhere did I say or even imply that pornography isn't evil. I offered solid recommendations for improving the truthfulness and readability of the article so that the cause can be better appreciated. And I will offer you two something as well, straight from the Church's teachings: "To avoid rash judgment, everyone should be careful to interpret insofar as possible his neighbor's thoughts, words, and deeds in a favorable way: Every good Christian ought to be more ready to give a favorable interpretation to another's statement than to condemn it. But if he cannot do so, let him ask how the other understands it." Give it a try.

The courts struck down the antiporn laws before Obama ever took office. I took a look at the Miley Cyrus photo mentioned in the article, where she's allegedly "sprawled on a table wearing S/M gear", and she has a lot of clothing on, not naked or having sex and not what I'd called "sprawled" either. If she can walk in those heels, she could walk down most any street with what she's wearing without being arrested. I see as much in the pews at church at times. The article calls it "porn" but the Church teaches that "Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners". So why does the article call it "porn"?

I'm afraid that we can't rely on the government to do our work as Christians for us, as most of us on here want to do. While it might be a good thing if all the porn was banished from the land, it's just not going to happen. That's our reality, but it is any worse than what St. Peter and Paul faced? We have to do the hard work ourselves, one soul at a time. All the talk on here does nothing.

Vance, read Ezekial chapter 8 ... It is part of Church teaching. Or if you won't be able to stand the shock of God's opinion, then simply know that the US Supreme Court (one of the justices) said once a few decades ago on the topic of pornography, that we know it when we see it. Now read above the post by Tee for what this means. Then go to confession.

Hopefully, MarkF, the many thousands of readers of CCD are moved to do more study and conversation on these topics. This site gets 170,000 hits per month ... and even though a lot of the hits are from the same people, still this counter indicates a large number of the silent majority ... we all either or both vote and make use of the confessional. Perhaps even some souls are moved, either immediately or in the future, by the work of God through the efforts, no matter how humble and imperfect, of those who post. Your present post, for example, reflects a substantial talent for expressing a real spiritual gem "I'm afraid that we can't rely on the government to do our work as Christians for us": This statement reflects a great deal of clearly put wisdom, MarkF. People keep these kinds of simple and profound statements in their minds, and God works with such things.

JLS, it was Justice Potter who used the phrase "I know it when I see it" in 1964 and he used it in reference to hard-core pornography. If he were alive today, he would say, "I know it when I see it, and the Miley Cyrus photo mentioned in the article is NOT that." As to Ezekiel 8, it does not answer why self-described "radical feminist" Dr. Grail [sic -- her real name is Gail] Dines reportedly called the Miley Cyrus photo "porn" when the Church teaches that "Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners". Tee's post also does not answer the question. Neither does your post. Perhaps Dr. Dines does not use the Church's definition?

"removal" seems to be the word that is bewildering you, Vance. Your argument is an old one. Some strain at gnats while the tub of water they've been sitting in heats up. The Church teaches that there is such a thing as "an occasion for sin": So, Vance, whoa to those who provide it or allow it for others. Jesus teaches by parable that even on a sabbath if a neighbor's ox is stuck in a pit, then it is good to ignore the letter of the sabbath law prohibiting work. In other words we are indeed and in fact and in truth meant to be our brother's keeper. Also, I do not see how you failed to at least attempt to connect Ezechiel 8 ... If you don't see it, and you have some interest in the topic of porn, which you show that you do, then it would be worth your time to look into it ... find some instruction guide for that chapter. The whole crux of it which the Prophet brings out is the letter of the law and the spirit of the law, and how plenty of leaders of society wield the letter of the law as a fascade to cover their iniquity. Prophets blow the cover of the hypocrites ... that is what they do with all those wild and exotic and difficult images and sayings and so forth, Vance; they blow our cover so that we humble ourselves and turn from sin, from even the appearance of sin as the Church teaches. The Church teachings are not things to be manipulated.

JLS, no, the word "removal" is not "bewildering" me. Is it bewildering you? Likewise, my question is not whether something is "an occasion of sin". Lots of things may be "an occasion of sin" but that doesn't mean they're "pornography". You can talk about Ezekiel and the law as much as you want, but my question is specific to how the Church has expressly defined pornography in CCC#2354: "Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties." When I view the Miley Cyrus photo, I don't imagine Miley Cyrus to be engaging in any "sexual act" with anyone. To me, she looks tired and alone, perhaps has a headache or a backache (maybe from the shoes) or just dreadfully bored.

Vance: CCC:2354 Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.

Vance, your question is calculatedly fractionated and intentionally seeking to take something important out of context, so that you can supply your own context, which you do in your post and which I'd call insipid in attitude. Like I said and which you avoid, your pattern is an old hook, a classic in denial and a classic in lack of charity for your fellow man. From CCC 2354 pornography " immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense."

Abeca, I suggest you consider rewatching Fr. Corapi's episode on calumny and rash judgment. This time pay attention. It just amazes me how you come here to claim I'm "trying to condone porn". Do you consider Church teaching to be "porn"? Because that's what I'm here about -- Church teaching. I'm asking about the specific Church teaching on "pornography" (CCC#2354) in regard to nothing other than the specific Miley Cyrus photo mentioned in the article. (And in case you don't know, she's not "nude". She has more clothing on than many women in the pews at church.)

Vance the fact that you are defending Miley Cyrus already raises a concern to me because she is has not been a very good role model to her generation. My apologies but I still don't agree with your previous posts, Miley Cyrus behavior in the past is leading towards porn most likely in lighter forms for now but they are still not appropriate. Abeca, I hadn't even heard of Miley Cyrus until the fuss over her photo. The article called it "porn", and I want to know if that photo actually is "pornography" as the Church defines the term in CCC#2354. That is my question. Your issues with whether she's a good role model and what they teach in sex education classes are not my question. If you like, we can also discuss whether your behavior is always a good role model. But again, that is not the question I have asked.

If you want to see pornography, dare to listen to a Planned Parenthood speaker on sex education invited by the ideological imposition of tax funded schools who work with PPH to get youth sexually active ASAP. These professionally claimed sexperts convince parents it is in the best interest of their child(ren) to view and listen to matters that in fact violate their privacy and their quiescent/latency period. I recently sat in on a fifth grade class PPH presentation. Even though I've been studying and in fact have purchased most levels of the"Growing In Love" curriculum (taught in parochial schools and equally as scandalous as anything in government sponsored schools) I was horrified what I witnessed and still continue being horrified that most people are silent about sex ed in classrooms. I regret that I've concluded that many people are porn viewers and have probably lost the ability to admit it and/or deal with it preferring the vice to virtue.

She is humble, beautiful and perfect and I hope to always look to our Mother Mary for guidance. I'm sure I don't always hear well or listen due to those ugly sins blocking God's graces and truths to come to me, that is why I go to confession for cleaning up and growth in Jesus!

What I experienced at my conversion was enthusiasm for what God has revealed through Holy Scripture and common sense. There is not a single thing in Scripture that is contradicted by the Magisterium. People fall into the trap of trying to manipulate Magisterial documents and authors to "prove" their errant arguments. And as for Blessed Mary Ever Virgin, in her Litany my favorite image of her is "House of Gold", and if one reflects on Her other titles in that Litany, then one can see how diverse she is in her appearances. No artist could ever come up with any work that would outshine her titles. The worldly minded stumble over Her titles. But the faithful are given even more graces.

To begin with Jenny did indeed make a good point in that in legal-ese there is a difference between 'pornography' and 'obscenity'. Sigh. It is hard to play the legal game but it unfortunately needs to be a point to consider.
How strange that when one person disagrees with another the old 'judgmental' term is foisted at them.
We as Catholic Christians need to be on the same page; the splintering helps no one. Maybe we cannot agree to what exactly is 'porn'. I would say the Sports Illustrated swim suit issue could be 'soft porn' for example as it leads to sexual fantasies. And so forth.
But let us put things into a basic Catholic perspective: We are to avoid near occasions of sin. If Miley the woman-child excites sinful fantasy in a beholder, then that beholder needs to govern the eyes, etc. For that person Miley, even if clothed but perhaps somehow suggestive, causes sin in the thoughts of another, that other must take steps to combat it. For we do sin in our thoughts and fantasies and often these lead to other actions. We are to avoid the 'near occasions of sin'. That directive has not changed. Define it as you wish but for each soul on the personal level, they must seek to eliminate sin in their lives if they are striving for holines..
The current age and society is the devil's playground for sure. Porn causes new areas of growth in the brain and is highlly addicting leading to dire consequences. Sexual addictions, while nothing new, are affecting more and more souls.
Today's Gospel from the 7th chapter of St. Matthew speaks about the broad and easy path to destruction and the narrow and constricted road, found by few (!) to life. We want to be on that narrow road. Everything around us in society and from the government, etc. encourages the wide road for many to destruction.

The key to the liberal infusion into our faith is the acceptance of sin under the guise of "tolerance". Once again, the liberals use artistic license in an attempt to get us to accept pornography as art. Others simply try to stretch the definition of obscene. This is no different than the arguments surrounding abortion, gay marriage, prostitution, homosexual acts, etc. It is all about getting us to accept sin as "normal" in this increasingly immoral world. They begin with the classic arguments like "victimless crime" and "keeping government out of the bedroom". But, we all know sin when we see it...

The problem with patient and infinitesimally articulated dialog on such matters is that it is a stalling technique. While stalled, the porn/obscend masters lure the good willed people further and further into their chicanery of evil. Porn and obscenity may seem different but that is only in a legalist sense. Rash judgment is not even possible today, because this evil movement has been underway politically for decades. Even pre-emptive salvos would be long overdue and not rash. If people present themselves as collateral damage, then hopefully they have the wisdom to be wearing the full armor of God so as not to be incapacitated.

Abortion is legal in our Land, so does that mean it is ok?
Our courts are corrupt, so why should a true believer trust in those courts to tell us what is obscene or not?
Today you can't go outside your home without being tempted by immorally dressed women, and I assume it is the same for moral women when they go out.
If we ask, the Spirit of God, the Spouse of the Most Blessed Virgin, will make clear to us how we must shield our eyes. I know that when I was innocently (I was looking at it to politically combat it, and I had the permission of some priests to do so) hooked by it, the Holy Spirit, through His Spouse, made it quite clear to me that I was in danger. Thanks be to God!

Not all laws are just. Abortion is legal and that does not make it right, that is for sure and Kennith M Fisher makes good points on that. I was in the shopping center a few days ago and I cringed when I was forced to pass by Victoria's Secret to get to the food court, with my two sons. I told them to look the other way. I'm sure many who have seen their stores understand what I mean. I admit I shopped there for my female items before but I would prefer that they would remove those huge immodest photo's of those models who are nearly naked. Like why would any women want to look at that. Why do we want our husbands and our children to be exposed to that while we window shop. I wish women would respect themselves more by not posing for such pictures.

Kenneth Fisher, you asked, "what made you even think that I had not read CCC#2354?" You're confused. Nowhere did I say and never did I think you hadn't read it. What I wrote was this: "Kenneth, if you want to [quote 2354 from the Catechism of the Catholic Church in its entirety], you can. I've already read it in its entirety. And I know you have a copy available too." Likewise, what you claim to be -my- "misinterpretation" is actually yours. Hope that helps.

Children do need sex education according to their age level, but it needs to come from the parents or a good religious teacher in a morally based class on sexuality. That way teens know exactly what kind of horrible diseases they can get from impurity, and their social implications. Don't leave your chldren "in the dark", or they might get their "education" from the streets, television, or others even though you are careful. Fr. Robert Fox wrote some excellent books for teens, but there are other excellent ones, too, in the Catholic bookstores which sell books that are loyal to Catholic teaching. Luckily, I got my "education" from the World Book Encyclopedia and the Bible since I read them from Second Grade on and looked up the words I did not know in a dictionary to find out the meaning. I was not told much of anything by my grandparents, and the class in the public schools was very limited and not thoroughly presented from a Christian background.

Vance,
Yes it helps me to understand that you are either very decisive, or you don't understand how others would read and understand what you write. For instance "And I know you have copy available too" could very easily be interpreted as an implication that I have not read it. It would be interesting to see what others have to say about my comments here.

Regarding my last post, children and teens should not be taught that sex between husband and wife is disgusting or dirty, either. According to the book "None of These Diseases" by S. I McMIllen and David Stern, two Protestant M.Ds, that is one of the causes of homosexuality -- mothers or fathers teaching a child that normal sexual relationships between a man and wife is disgusting. According to the authors, Orthodox Jews have very little homosexality among them, even though they dress very modestly and separate the sexes in Temple, and they quite often use the book Song of Solomon in the Bible to teach their sons and daughters about good relations between a husband and wife. "None of These Diseases" is a medical book that tells how the laws in the Old Testament kept the Israelites from getting many of the diseases from which other more immoral cultures around them suffered. The title is taken from from Exodus 15:26, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His eyes, if you pay attention to His commands and keep all His decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, Who heals you." The sanitary conditions laid down in the books of Deuteronomy and Leviticus was amazingly effective, and differed greatly from the conditions in other cultures at that time.

Mark, I am glad to know that the sisters you had (I don't know they years) had the wisdom to follow the Supreme teachings of Holy Mother Church that sex ed is not to be taught in groups. What we are dealing with is a huge amount of tolerance for errors within the Church. Youth exposed to sex ed in classrooms are de-educated and sexually active youth are into drugs, alcohol, cuttings and suicide. Our youth were safer "not knowing". Check out the epidemic rates (some say pandemic) of sexually transmitted diseases. Thanks to planned parenthood and teachers in classrooms as their collaborators, they are raising barbarians with the use of pornography in text books.

I think pornography is the most dangerous worm eating the moral fabric of every society, thus corrupting the very mind of children. So if the issue of anti-porn is not tackle holistically the menace will perpetuate in society. To me, the producers, and the distributors must be duly persecuted.

Without being graphic and if you have children around, steer them away: Warning what you are about to read is rated PG-15. A few weeks ago while we were on the road into Orange County area, we stopped in a grocery store to get some bottled water and snacks. After our purchase we headed towards the car and we saw a group of teen age boys, probably around the ages 14 - 16, it was late, it was around 10pm or so and thought why are they out so late alone without adult supervision?. Well one of the boys yelled out," I love sex, I love Sex. It feels good, I love sex" We were already getting in our car but I just couldn't believe it, how about saying he loved so and so but nooo instead he loved what he can take from a girl, self gratification. Same Goes for the porn industry, it gets our men hooked, it takes from the dignity of the women giving themselves into that. Sex is then de-valued and trashy. It is no longer treated as a gift from God between a married man and woman. Plus porn has grown to be so sick that it has gotten worst than just your naked women pics but it has stooped a new low,
you can find about any kind of porn possible with just about any object or things. It is disgusting. The adult industry also wants our kids and their innocence, it will stop at nothing.

Why is something that is so puerile called adult entertainment?
|
Posted Thursday, June 24, 2010 1:57 PM By JLS
Porn disrupts and destroys social bonding, marital bonding, and male bonding. The gays use the parody word "bondage' because they do not know what real God given bonding is. Through porn, man isolates himself from others and from God ... and from himself as he disintegrates or as he never achieves integration of all the aspects of his nature.

Claire: Before we decided to homeschool our children went to a "Catholic" school and we faced a situation that was really bad. I went onto these websites you talked about and they are really enlightening. This type of "sex-ed" is one of the reasons why we pulled my kids out of the "Catholic" school they were attending. Good Catholics are being decieved right under their noses and they don't even realize it. They think that it is Catholic, so they don't even question it. My husband and I wrote a letter to the principal and religious education teacher and informed them that we DID NOT want our children in the "sex-ed"-Religion class. We told them it is OUR job and obligation as parents to instill in our children sex-education when WE felt it was time and how we, as Catholics, feel is appropriate. To make a long story short, my husband and I were called, by phone, from the principal and confronted and told that it was a very beautiful program and that we are doing our children a disservice and that they would receive an "F" for the program and it would go towards their "Religion" grade. Without going into detail, I let him verbally have it and I didn't hold back. I grabbed the phone from my husband and it wasn't pretty. My children never attended the "sex-ed-Religion" class, BUT let's just say they were made spectacles by the teacher when it was time for the brainwashing education to start by telling them to go to the office during this time and work in there. It's a good thing that this "sex-ed" was at the end of the year because we would have taken our kids out immediately. We let them finish out the last week and they never went back. Parents, inform yourselves and be vigilant when it comes to your child's innocence. Their souls are at stake and these sex-ed programs are a sham, sexually explicit, disgusting, and deceitful and most of all EVIL AND NOT CATHOLIC!

RR - I have written several letters to the Pro-Life Activities of the USCCB in Washington D C about sex ed in parochial schools. When they respond they will not address the specific issue and instead send me propaganda on their respect for life from cradle to grave. The sex perts such as the Alan Guttmacher Institute know that sex ed is to promote the activity of sexual experiences with youth and it prepares little girls for their later abortions. Group sex ed has been Supremely condemned. Parental natural rights are seriously violated. Why do they who can not listen?????? Our youth are unsuspecting and are losing their souls. This is a grave matter and Catholics have a duty to combat this serious error.

Wow Claire I had no idea. I was overwhelmed and shocked by all the information. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. I will share this information with other moms who may have their children in Catholic private schools. I don't have my kids in private Catholic schools because I can't afford it but I do have friends who do. God bless you for spreading the news. It just shows you how bad things are getting in our own private Catholic education system, in the Elementary years. This is a very important issue to warn parents about.

Anne T I have never heard of children being taught that sex between a husband and wife was dirty. It is the adults who muddy and make dirty sex. There was a teen forwarding from her cell phone through text messages, she forwarded a cartoon (created by adults) of a man cartoon having sex with a chicken. It was meant to be funny. Come on funny?, how sick is that! It was disgusting. Adult humor has gone a new low and now kids are getting a hold of it. Sex is only dirty because man made it that way, not our Lord.

Vance I want to apologize if I came across too strong. When you said that you never heard of Miley Cyrus before this article, now it dawned to me why you would make such comments. I want to explain why I came across so strongly it is because Miley Cyrus once was on the news for performing and dancing on a strip poll, poll dancing, I don't know if you heard of poll dancing? What is why I made such comments regarding your posts and I apologize that at first I had no idea that you didn't hear about her in the past. That would explain your questioning about her. Abeca Christian - A recent study concludes that women at Catholic colleges are more promiscuous than their peers at secular colleges, raising new alarms about the state of Catholic higher education. Most Catholics probably don’t remember the last time they heard the American bishops raise their voices to condemn classroom sex instruction programs. That is because that event happened over fifty years ago on November 17, 1950.-- Pope Pius XI, Encyclical on The Christian Education of Youth, issued December 31, 1929 contains a most authoritative prohibition of classroom sex instruction.

Abeca Christian - My feeble efforts have been to the writing of letters to large Catholic organizations hoping that at least one would combat the corruption of youth in classrooms paid by every dime put into the collection plate. Silence is acceptance. No action can be taken unless one is sufficiently horrified and one cannot move unless a Catholic conscience is formed according to the teachings of the Total Deposit of Faith, that is guarded by the Holy Fathers of the Church. Anything contrary removes natural rights and causes destruction of souls. There is a major wall of opposition to Truth. Holy Mother Church is a sign of contradiction and a narrow unpopular road to travel. God Bless you, Abeca Christian, for all that you do.

Claire I applaud your comments and this one especially "Silence is acceptance.". Because it is true, I hate it when I hear people oppose something yet they say nothing to the main people causing the scandal. I'm usually the only mom who speaks up about things and find myself being all alone while all the cowards say let somebody else say something. Oh well, I don't have my kids in private Catholic schools, I can't afford it but if I did, they would go only to a very traditional one. Also Claire let me add that sometimes we can't be the only ones fighting every battle, sometimes we pick and choose our battles, doesn't mean we didn't care for each and everyone but it just means we may have a lot on our plates. That is why I pray for the ones that are fighting the good fight especially if I can't be there for all of them to help out. God will send us help, I always pray for that, that is for sure. God bless you my friend and thank you for all your care.

Abeca Christian, I am rejoicing in your understanding of the crises of our youth made possible by those who have the power to change it. Once again my plea is that those who call themselves Catholic recognize that they are responsible for each action that determines their Final End. Likewise, we heap shame upon ourselves for each and every young soul in every parochial classroom corrupted because of the evils of 'pornographic' sex education made possible by Catholics in their financial support. Thank you, Abeca Christian. May God richly reward you and yours beyond all expectation.

I just discovered that "Priests For Life" has a sex education course designed for parochial schools. The large well known organization does a lot of good work that none can deny. They claim to want to win the war on abortion. How, can any one explain, exposing youth to pornographic materials bring a good result??!! Also, from a credible source and I look forward to getting the material, Holy Mother Church has spoken on the quiescent/pubescent period of each child's natural life that must not be disturbed for the sake of mastering passions and dying to self. Hope this information helps as vague as this post might be.

Abeca Christian, I recently talked to a lady I discovered by her letter to the editor in local paper about Planned Parenthood speaking to youth about sex in the government schools of indocrination. As you know these outrageous tax funded schools are not about educating but about forming politically correct citizens that will be useful, pliable and controllable. The writer of the article encouraged the reading of "Sex Education, the Final Plague" by Randy Engel. If you have not read it I strongly encourage you to get several and pass them around if you can. I M O, it's time for honorable men with chests to stand and begin a crusade for the protection of our youth. Nothing less is acceptable.

Abeca Christian - New England Publishing or google the book's name and/or author. More advised reading is on Freemasonry that abhors Catholicism possibly more than any other and their successes in incrementally destroying the true Faith. They support the use of pornography to destroy the family that demoralizes fatherhood and motherhood and the use of pornography in sex education classrooms for youth to become the new class of slaves and barbarians.
