“After our children”
Homosexual activists use youngsters to advance their agenda
Homosexual activists are discovering the unique effectiveness of using kids -- high school age, and even younger -- as their public representatives, finding that even in conservative political venues, it’s hard to argue against the appeal of children.
Queer Youth Advocacy Day, a day of “lobbying, advocacy training, and educational workshops” on March 26 brought hundreds of youth sexuality activists to the Capitol in Sacramento. The lobbyists who crowded into one Sacramento lawmaker’s office didn’t come bearing campaign cash or votes to swap, according to Fox News: “Instead, they recounted tales of high school torment as fresh as their faces.”
Teenager Ignacio Pitalua spoke to Assemblyman Curren Price about being harassed by other boys who suspected he was homosexual, urging the California legislator to co-sponsor a bill that sets fine-tuned requirements for schools to stem discrimination against children who manifest a disturbing sexuality.
Children with “gay or lesbian” parents also have been instrumental in building support for same-sex marriage, said Meredith Fenton, national program director with Children of Lesbian and Gays Everywhere.
This advocacy is the latest development stemming from the more than 2,500 Gay-Straight Alliance groups that adult homosexual activists have sponsored in the schools starting in the 1990s. The initiative has yielded political benefits, as younger and younger students have been encouraged to think of themselves as sexual and to embrace the label “queer youth.”
Joined by their straight friends and the children of same-sex parents, children who have been encouraged to identify themselves in terms of various deviant sexualities have been organized to advocate for special recognition in their own schools and communities, sometimes even raising funds or chartering buses to bolster sexuality activists in other, more conservative venues.
While previous generations waited well into adulthood before identifying themselves as homosexual, the average age at which homosexual children “came out” to friends and families in 2005 was 13 years and four months, according to Caitlin Ryan, a San Francisco State University researcher.
“Make no mistake: Homosexual activists are after our children,” explains Allyson Smith of Americans for Truth, a newly reorganized national organization opposing the homosexual activist agenda. (Smith is also a contributor to California Catholic Daily.)
“Here we see how adult homosexual activists put their own selfish desires to affirm their deviant lifestyles ahead of the true welfare of children by confirming them in a false and destructive ‘gay’ identity and encouraging them to lobby state legislatures,” Smith said.
“Adult homosexualists should be ashamed of using kids to advance their immoral and unhealthy agenda,” said Smith, noting that they are “abetted by government agencies funded by our taxpayer dollars.”
Last Month's Queer Youth Advocacy Day was co-sponsored by GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) Network and Bienestar, a “grassroots, nonprofit community service organization” funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources Services Administration, the state Department of Health Services, Office of AIDS, and the County of Los Angeles, Department of Health Services, Office of AIDS Programs and Policy.

How ironic that the funding for this project comes from federal and local governmental HEALTH agencies. What is healthy about homosexuality? Tragically, gays & lesbians are their own worst enemies, playing Russian roulette with their health and very lives. Instead of promoting it among the young with programs like this, these agencies should be educating our youth about its dangers and costs.

I sure hope the person who wrote this article doesn't have any children who are Gay. Or any other family members or co-workers for that matter.
You think young people are simply identifying as Gay simply because it's trendy? You think Gay youth are somehow choosing their sexual orientation as simply as one chooses a flavor of ice cream? You think young people risk being kicked out of their homes, ostracized by their friends, berated, beated up, and even killed because it was somehow fashionable to be Gay?
As for myself, I admire the bravery of these young people who are willing to affirm who they are. As someone who was in junior high school in the early 1970s, I never would have been able to. I wasn't even able to write down the words, "I AM GAY" until I was in college. I'm lucky to have not killed myself. Many Gay youth, espcially those out in rural America, aren't so lucky.
And yet you cling to the notion that being Gay is nothing more than a fad. Shame on YOU.

Just because you can shove gay people into a closet, and not see them, doesn't mean the problem is gone. It is just hidden. Like the priest sex scandal. You can hate gay people (or homosexuals, whichever sounds worse), and you can hate me. But let me ask you something: If the motivation of a person is hate, and it is religiously inspired, what then, does that say about their religion? Find God.

The Church does not teach "hate" of homosexual persons. It does teach this, from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
From section 2357 -- "Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that 'homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.' They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.
And from section 2359 -- Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection."
Is anyone teaching this to these poor youngsters?

I am lesbian, and I know several gay/lesbian people, and we are NOT after anyone's children! Actually, the entire myth of the 'homosexual agenda' is a farce, and I am getting tired of seeing it used as a battering ram to create fear. We just want to protect each other and our families.
I was raised in a strict Catholic home, but even my parents are disgusted with hypocrites that want to use homosexuals as a scape goat for the child sexual abuse scandals. Neither of them attend mass any longer, nor do they financially support the church. I attended, and all three of my children were baptised in the church, but now I do not feel comfortable there. It is not the supportive environment that is once was for many people because of the hatred.
I have many wonderful memories from my childhood when I attended an old fashion Chatholic school, and I went to mass with my family and sat among many of my neighbors. It is so very sad that the loving church that I knew is gone.

I understand how the homosexuality issue becomes personally problematic when we have close relatives who disclose their homosexuality. Nonetheless, this incessant drum beat by homosexual activists targeting our children at younger and younger ages, should be repelled. Children in their formative years often have ambiguous feelings about many things, including their sexuality. Nonetheless, since simple observation discloses that homosexuality is an abnormality, we don't want sexually ambivalent kids to be pushed by homosexuals into their camp. This is what happens when the schools start pushing kids to "come out" at earlier and earlier ages. Goodness gracious, how can you possibly rely on young kids to determine their sexual preference when they are absolutely unreliable for everything else. Relatives of these kids need to educate themselves more on this issue, rather than accepting wholesesale the propaganda of the homosexual lobby.

Fifteen years ago there was an editorial published in the sodomite magazine "The Advocate", entitled "Recruit, recruit, recruit!" Here are a few quotes from that article (published December 29, 1992):
1. "Pat Bucanan said there was a 'cultural war' going on 'for the soul of America' and that gay and lesbian rights were the principal battleground. He was right. Similarly, 'phobes like Pat Robertson are right when they say that we threaten the family, male domination, and the Calvinist ethic of work and grimness that has paralyzed most American's search for pleasure".
2. "Let's take the offensive for a change, wehether the issue is promiscuity or recruiting the previously straight.... Maybe you didn't choose to be gay - that's fine, but I did".
3. "What we need to give the Christian right is a solid sock to the jaw - not a whiny plea for forgiveness. The best gay and lesbian demo I ever saw was the zap of a speech Jerry Falwell gave to Virginia delegates to the Republican convention. Outside Queer Nationals from around the country chanted, 'TEN PERCENT IS NOT ENOUGH! RECRUIT, RECRUIT, RECRUIT!' (emphasis added)
Get the message?

Just as a small clarification, there is a difference between pedophiles and homosexuals. Pedophiles are people who go after children. This does not mean they are sexually attracted to grown men, as the children have features that are more reminiscent of women (lack of body hair, etc). Homosexuals, on the other hand, are people who are attracted to adults, keyword adults, of their own gender. it may be easier to mix and match the two terms, but they are very different.
Now, in response to the stereotypes on your "homosexual activists" and the general homosexual population. While it may be hard to believe, as you obviously don't think it now, homosexuals are able to live lives that are not dangerous or costly, as Gerry states. Those concepts of gay people are kinda old by now. There is no specific lifestyle you can pinpoint to the homosexual population, just like there is no specific lifestyle you can pinpoint to the heterosexual population. Sure, some homosexuals could be taking drugs, but your heterosexual kids could be taking em, too.
And I am sorry if this bothers you, but I take offense to people calling us gay kids "poor youngsters." Sexual orientation doesn't confine you to a certain kind of life. Being gay doesn't make you stupid and unable to take care of yourself. Besides, being able to present a good argument requires that you do not argue based on stereotypes. Stereotypes do not give you credibility, it just shows your inability to see that these are people you are talking about, not some gigantic mass of evil or conspirators yearning to destroy the world as you know it.

Paula, Why are you blaming the church for your decision. Based on tradition in the courts, natural society etc etc, church history, your acts and your 10 year old movement have never been considered normal. Now we should change church doctrine to support less than 5% of the population that are gay plus you and your parents??? Get real !!!! Also, the CA senate (Mark Leno) has had his bill vetoed by the govenor twice, voted down by the people in 2000, yet he's pushing the gay agenda by adopting the small equality bill over and over again. There are over 200 gay/lesbian lobbying firms around the country compared to less than 20 by the christians who look for every news opportunity around the country tp push their agenda. Your blind and confusing your children. There's a wonderful Protestant church out there willing to accept your family and money, so don't waste anytime time leaving the Catholic Church..PS I'm not homophobic...

Mr. Radio,
Most of the male victims of molesting priests have not been children but post-pubescent youth, who are more like men than women. I believe this is not pedophilia properly speaking but what they call ephebophilia. Does not attraction to post-pubescent youth smack of homosexuality?
Further, Catholics would call homosexual youth "poor" because we think homosexual desires are disordered. We don't hate homosexual people anymore than we hate people who suffer any sort of moral disorder (and all sinful desires are disordered); rather, we pity all those who, like ourselves, suffer from disordered desires.

I reject the idea 5% of the population is homosexual. The fact is either we accept the teachings in Romans chapter 1 or we reject the bible. Attraction to any vice comes from a rejection of grace and turning away from God. Homosexuality is a vice and its practice in society has always been correlated to the rise of fall of paganism in the world. the rise of homosexuality is simply a reflection of the trend to embracing paganism which claims abortion as its first cousin. The solution to reversing these trends is not bashing such people, rather it is teaching our children the Catechism and instructing them in prayer.

No one "used" children at QYAD!
They are people with brains and think for themsleves!!
This young adults are not "your children", they are individuals who go to their schools every day and they are called faggot, dike, homo, bitch, FOB, retardedm... etc, etc
Young people become activists because they respect themselves and other people too much to let anyone be treated like a second-class citizen. They believe in the basic worth of all human beings, including themselves. That's why so many students, including straight allies, are coming together to fight sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination at their schools. The goals of a student activism group include winning concrete improvements in people's lives, making students aware of their own power, and altering the relations of power. GSAs in California are leading the fight on social change and justice.

GSA clubs are the attempts of the social engineers to control others via sexual liberation or uncontrolled lust.
Just like women smoking campaigns were promoted as liberation: Hey baby, now you can get cancer all by yourself! Biblical Samson was controlled when he gave into his lustful passions. That is the fastest way to control others and also to manipulate people. Lust blinds the intellect and
also separates people from religion faster than anything else. To get a person to leave his faith, the tactic is to never debate God, just get them involved in a sexual sin, and the idea of God will evaporate all by itself.

I am happy that gay youth are pushing for our rights. This proves that God loves LGBT for what we are.
